The New Albany-Floyd County Schools have been a part of my world for my entire life. My parents were both graduates of and teachers in this school system, and I grew up with a positive impression of community based on my experiences in NACF schools.

My positive involvement in classes, student government, music, theatre, and sports helped to nurture a work ethic and love of people that led me to an elementary teaching career that has now evolved into a support staff position at Highland Hills Middle School. My husband (a graduate of New Albany HS) and I met through music in the NAFCS, and both of our children attended Floyd Central HS which created strong foundations for their college and professional careers: our daughter is an elementary teacher, and our son is an audio engineer.

The success of the Foundation is crucial to the success of our students and staff. I remember my days as a new teacher, purchasing classroom supplies from my own paycheck. The NAFCS Education Foundation offers grants to teachers for classroom use and educational field trips, as well as supporting Blessings in a Backpacks, assuring that our students will have positive, beneficial experiences to shape their educational paths and adult lives.
