"She was a happy person, willing to always help, be supportive, and mentor to make people better. I am proud to have been her friend." - Eden Konja, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Walsh
Lesia I. Mahon (August, 14, 1948 – April 29, 2020) was a beloved Professor in the IT and Decision Sciences Department at Walsh and Project Manager at Ally Bank in Detroit. A Walsh alumna, she began teaching in 2000. Her passions went beyond teaching, however, choosing to be a mentor and advisor for the students she taught.
The Lesia Mahon Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to provide support for deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence. Preference will be given to women pursuing a degree program in IT & Decision Sciences.
This campaign to establish a scholarship in her honor was created out of the admiration and respect her colleagues, students, friends and family have for her, as a tribute to Lesia’s passion for education, her devotion to students, and to her enduring spirit. Your gift will ensure that future generations of IT & Decision Sciences leaders will have access to financial support they need to achieve their dreams.
Lesia was devoted to changing the lives of her students. Your gift, no matter the size will carry on her legacy and will change lives.
