I am running in memory of my dear friend in the hopes that others never have to say goodbye.
This coming October will be 2 years since I lost one of the my dearest friends, Shara, to this terrible cancer. She was always the first person to call me crazy and then be one of my biggest supporters with any insane idea I had like competing in some ridiculous mud run that had electric shock therapy and ice bath swims. Shara knew that although I am not a runner that I always wanted to finish an entire marathon. She said she would be waiting at the finish line with a big sign, a smile and a hug. Unfortunately, she left us before we were ever able to make that a reality. Her loss has left a large void in my heart that will never be filled and I pray that one day nobody will feel that void because of this terrible disease. So, I've registered for the Race to Cure Sarcoma Race Team that is running in the Marine Corps Marathon on October 29th to raise much needed funding for research, education and advocacy. I run in memory of my beautiful friend who I miss so very much. I run with gratitude that I was one of the lucky ones who knew and loved her. I run with HOPE for a cure.
What are the goals of The Sarcoma Foundation?
Eliminate pain and suffering due to sarcoma by:

- Increasing public awareness regarding early detection of sarcoma
- Educating those living with sarcoma
- And so much more....
