As I sat down for this registration and thought about people in my life touched by cancer, my mind was flooded with faces. Of some of the closest people to me, who are thankfully in remission. Of so many in my extended family, who were recently diagnosed and are fighting their battles right now. There are so many in honor of whom I would have loved to fundraise, but wasn't sure if they wanted their name publicly linked to the disease - which shows another insidious side to cancer: the stigma. I saw the faces of those who I've met through work that we've lost too soon, but also the faces of bravery and incredible strength, who rise again and again and live a full life beyond the fear. There is no one whom cancer has not touched in one way or another. Tower's CFG are raising funds for research that aims to discover new innovative approaches to fighting cancer, that will lead to improved treatment and a brighter future.

I am moving and raising money in memory of Sa'ard Srimuang, my late grandmother-in-law. I met Sa'ard only once, and even though we could only exchange a few words as we did not share a language, she made me feel completely welcome and accepted into the family. She was a generous and kind-hearted person, loved by all. How we wish she could have seen our wedding day and met her great-granddaughter, who got her middle name after her. She left us very suddenly, and much too soon.

For my Move activity, I want to take our daughter on her first little hike (in a baby carrier, of course) as a family. If you know Isaac, you know that he is not a hiker, so it will definitely be a challenge to make it happen!

Please join me in raising money for cancer research. All money raised for Move Over Cancer will go directly to funding CFG's innovative research grant for a young cancer researcher. All donations are 100% tax deductible!
