About A Night in the Cold 2024
On Friday, November 8th participants will brave the elements by sleeping outside for one night. We will meet at Family Life Shelter (12580 N. Sparrow Lane - Mt. Vernon, IL) and stay overnight at this location. Participants can bring their own tent, sleep in a cardboard box (provided) or sleep in their vehicle. It’s open to everyone of all ages - families, individuals, faith and school groups, sports teams, school clubs, etc (children under 18 need an accompanying adult).
THE CAUSE: 100% of the proceeds will go towards our shelter to help provide a warm and safe place for the homeless to rebuild their lives.
Step 1: Register
Join a team or participate on your own! Go to the Get Started tab above to register and kick off your fundraising.
Step 2: Fundraise
Once you register, a fundraising page is created for you with built-in tools to make it easy to fundraise. Aim high! 100% of the proceeds go to those in need.
Our suggested minimum fundraising goal is $500. You have until Thursday, November 7th at midnight to meet your goal. We make it easy with our Starter Kit at the tab above.
Step 3: Sleep outside
On Friday, November 8th @ 7pm, we will gather at the Family Life Shelter (12580 N. Sparrow Lane - Mt. Vernon, IL). You can bring a tent, sleeping bag, your car, or a provided cardboard box. We will conclude our event with a big breakfast at 7am!!
