Remembering Nazareth and the CSJ's

My eight years of teaching at Nazareth Academy was an inspiring experience in my life, due in large part to the Sisters of St. Joseph.  These dedicated women established an environment of inclusiveness based on God’s teachings.  During my journey to LePuy, France, I solidified my truth and faith and, with the help of Nazareth Academy and the Sisters, I felt fully free and supported to speak and practice my truth!
This truth being:

“God loves us all equally. We find TRUE JOY by sharing this love through our actions of kindness, generosity, and commitment to God, earth and all people.

Christine DePasquale - Former Nazareth Educator

Sr. Ellen Springer had very high expectations and challenged us to stretch our thinking. As a fellow educator I know the importance of having educators like Sr. Ellen in our lives. In my many roles as an educator I know I have a little Sr. Ellen in me and I have worked hard to instill those same values in my students. I am better beause of the teachings Naz and the CSJs so I say thank you to all who serve the students of Nazareth Academy.

Today, March 19, is a day to remember — a day to remember our patron saint, St. Joseph. It's a day to remember the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Joseph who taught us, supported us, prayed for us and challenged us all to become our best selves. Today is a day to remember your Nazareth Academy family and to support the legacy created by the Sisters and entrusted to us to continue.

We begin a new tradition of giving today. Every year going forward, March 19 will be designated as Naz Give Day. The first half of our first Naz Give Day was a great success! We started off the day with a matching gift from Barb (Benes) '64 and Dale Slater, followed by a $5000 matching gift from Mark and Liz Doyle. We had a mid afternoon matching gift $5000 from Ed and Maureen Chott followed by an evening matchin gift from Therese and Michael Rooney. The Nazareth family has generously met the matching challenges all day long and we are well on our way to meeting the next challenge!

We are truly grateful to all who have participated in Naz Give Day.

Please support our efforts to better the lives of our students for good and donate today.
