2019 W.I.S.H. Society TO HELP GRANT WISHES

Friends,
I'm raising funds for a cause that's dear to my heart, Make-A-Wish! This organization creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, bringing them hope, strength, and joy at the time they need it most! If you'd like to see the mission in action, be sure to check out this quick-but-powerful video. I promise it will move you.
Our family has experienced the power of a wish first hand. In September of 2013, our daughter Miranda’s wish was granted to attend fashion week in New York. During the spring and summer, she had been battling rhabdomyosarcoma for a second time, enduring surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. All of the treatments were taking their toll. She was often tired, napping several times a day. But when her wish was granted, she was so excited. Since Miranda was our only child, her best friend Lindsey was allowed to go with us. For the 5 days of our trip, Miranda was happy and bursting with energy. She only took one nap the entire trip. Make-A-Wish planned shopping sprees, fashion shows, and designer meet and greets. They arranged transportation to the airport, hotel, and several of the shows. Every detail was taken care of. There were a few unplanned chance encounters as well. She met her favorite model and posed for pictures with her, met all of the judges from America’s Next Top Model, and met a few other celebrities too. For 5 days, none of us had a care in the world. My husband likes to say Make-A-Wish cured Miranda’s cancer for a week. That trip gave her strength and courage going into her bone marrow transplant. For my husband and me, it gave us amazing memories to hold on to when she passed away. It was an incredible bright spot in a long and difficult journey.
A wish is a powerful experience that provides essential hope, sparks imagination, and inspires a child to consider limitless possibilities while facing the unthinkable. Locally, the Central and Western North Carolina chapter grants more than 385 wishes per year at an average cost of $6,000 per wish. Wish kids and families are our friends, neighbors, and relatives! Their wishes engage entire communities in life-changing moments, as each one requires an incredible amount of brainpower, creativity, time, and generosity to fulfill.
As a member of the W.I.S.H. Society (Women Inspiring Strength & Hope), I'm invested in this cause and would love to share more of our Make-A-Wish story with anyone who will listen (thank you), raising funds to grant at least one child's wish - a minimum goal of $6,000. There are few things more powerful than making a wish come true! Please consider donating $100, $50, $25, or any amount you can. You'll help me reach my goal and you'll JOIN me in granting a child's wish!
Thank you,

Thank you to all who helped make today possible!!! I got my fairy godmother wand at the #ncwishsociety luncheon!!! I ended up at $8251, and the total for all Woman of the Year nominees and alumni was over $130,000. What an amazing group of women. I am honored to be a part of it.
