PGA National Day of HOPE

The Gateway PGA Section is the proud home of 8 PGA HOPE Programs and have served over 300 veterans. During the summer of 2022, we started our very first Women’s Only clinic to give women a chance to be a part of the program and learn golf in a safe and approachable environment. While only 12 participants signed up for the program, it was very well received and we will continue to offer the same program in the future. 

Our goal is to keep expanding our programming throughout our Section to serve more veterans and we will do that by getting more of our PGA Members certified. We have a good relationship with the VA and that has been the key to our success when it comes to recruiting veterans for each of our programs.

Thanks to the support of our PGA Members, we have been able to raise money for our local PGA HOPE Programs but we would like to do more in terms of fundraising. We have been trying to execute a fundraiser event at our local TopGolf facility but none of them have come to fruition due to the lack of participation as well as staffing issues. However, next year we plan to put all of our attention to the success of this event and hopefully it will be a success!
