I've been married to a Type 1 diabetic for over 30 years. I've seen what this disease can do to a family. Hospital visits, paramedics arriving late in the night, phone calls from the state police because there's been an accident, missed vacations, and missed kids' events. I want to see people educated to understand how to deal with these issues and research to find a cure that all can benefit from. The ADA is about education and research. I hope that my grandchildren never have to deal with this disease because there will be a cure one day.
