Allison is running in the 2022 NYC Marathon to raise awareness and fight for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis with Team Boomer in honor of her lifelong friend, Kate, and the rest of the community.
My best friend, Kate, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at two years old. As a close friend of mine since childhood, I have witnessed the extent of just how horrible this chronic disease is. Thanks to this amazing community and endless amounts of research, there has been several medical advancements throughout the years that have largely improved not only Kate’s health, but her quality of life as well. Kate’s lung capacity is now better than ever and she is able to fulfill her dream of running the NYC marathon. This is my attempt to give back to the efforts of others who helped Kate when she needed it most. All proceeds will be issued to the Team Boomer Foundation so that when the next two-year old is diagnosed, they can rest assured there is hope to overcome the odds like Kate. It is an honor to be running alongside my best friend and CF warrior, while raising money and awareness for a cause so close to my heart.
