2023 TCS NYC Marathon supporting Boomer Esiason Foundation

To honor those who have fought and those who are currently fighting Cystic Fibrosis while raising awareness of the disease.
I have been a long time runner and always wanted to run the NYC Marathon though I didn't think I would be doing it at 67 years old (my age on race day). I have run 2 marathons before but it has been 9 years since the last one I ran. I did run 2 half marathons last year which brought me to 16 half marathons total. I know on race day that when I hit mile 22 or 23 the pain and agony will be intense but I will remind myself how lucky I am that I can run and breath freely. I assume some of you saw my post about running the NYC Marathon? Did I mention it is a fundraiser and I'm running to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis? I need to raise $3500 dollars. Did I mention you can click on my photo below to get to the donation page? Here is some more info just for fun...
-There are about 50,000 runners going through all 5 boroughs of NYC -If I fall short of the minimum goal of $3500 I must pay the difference myself -About 2 million+ people come out to watch the race -The race starts at 8am Sunday November 5th at the front of the Verrazzano Bridge in Staten Island -I will be getting up at 4am to make way across town to catch a bus leaving from the NYC Library to Staten Island about an hour ride -The other option is to take the subway downtown to the financial district and get on the Staten Island ferry and then bus over to the set up area which all together takes almost 2 hours -Once you are released from your coral (done by predicted finishing times) you will start to move into position -it will be almost a 45 minute wait before the horn goes off to start -The winds can be very strong in November as you go over the Verrazzano (the Narrows below - the merge of the Hudson and East Rivers) so you need to dress warm -Clothes that you discard at the start and along the way are donated to charities
