2025 TCS New York City Marathon supporting National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

I am running the 2025 New York City Marathon to raise awareness & money for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in honor of my Aunt Cindy.
I’m so excited to share that I will be running the NYC Marathon for Team Teal on behalf of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. The NOCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, promoting education, and supporting ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers across the country. Since 1991, they have worked tirelessly to educate communities from coast to coast, advocate for early detection, and provide crucial support to those affected by ovarian cancer. This foundation is deeply personal to my family, and I’m honored to be a part of Team Teal.
On January 30, 2023, my aunt Cindy lost her hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer. Her journey was one of resilience - after initially being misdiagnosed, she defied the odds with a miraculous recovery thanks to a groundbreaking trial drug. Sadly, the cancer returned with unrelenting force. Yet through it all, Cindy never lost her spirit or the kindness that defined her. She was a dedicated social worker, a true empath who devoted her life to advocating for others, offering support to those in need, and ensuring no one felt alone in their struggles. Her legacy of compassion and selflessness continues to inspire me every day.
Moving to New York in September 2024 felt like a fresh start, but it also deepened my connection to my aunt’s memory in ways I hadn’t expected. That November, I stood among thousands of spectators lining the streets, watching the 2024 NYC Marathon for the first time. The energy was electric - strangers uplifting one another, runners pushing through exhaustion with sheer determination, loved ones cheering. It reminded me of my aunt Cindy, my mom, my uncle, and my cousins - their unwavering strength, perseverance, and the community that rallied around them during some of the toughest times. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be part of something bigger. I wanted to run not just for myself, but for those fighting ovarian cancer, and for the survivors and caregivers walking this journey every day.
THANK YOU for your support - every donation makes a difference. Can’t wait to tackle 26.2 in November and raise money for the NOCC!
