As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse I understand the power of sharing our stories and the benefits that physical fitness can bring to our healing process.
For many years I did not see the light at the end of the tunnel and the dreams I had as a kid were pushed aside. I lived with the shame of the abuse I suffered for several years and it wasn't until I came forward with my story and seeked help that I began to see life with a more positive lense.
Nowadays, I work with foster and probation youth. I use my stories of completing marathons and triathlons to inspire the youth to strive for a better tomorrow.
