Being part of Paceline is truly a personal experience. At the age of 5, I was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in my left femur. This not only changed my life, but also the lives of my family members. After multiple surgeries and hospital stays, the cancer was removed. But it was still a long road to recovery. At first I was unable to walk at all, then slowly started walking with crutches, and ultimately learning how to walk again. My mom remembers vividly crying to her best friend after hearing the news, that they do not make Barbies (my favorite toy at the time) with one leg. Luckily, due to my age, there are only small moments from that time that I remember.

I have made it a point in my life to raise money for cancer research. No person or family should have to face what mine did during my battle with cancer. I believe that we can find a cure for this awful disease. Paceline allows me to do my part in the ride towards a cure. One year ago if you had asked me to go on a 45 mile bike ride and fundraise, I would have said no way. But after joining Paceline, I know that it is about more than just a bike ride. We are working to bring the community together to raise awareness and funds for the Georgia Cancer Center. Join me this year as a rider, donor, or volunteer. Together, we can cure cancer faster!
