The McDuffie County UGA Archway Partnership and Paceline invite you to join our virtual walking challenge! We're trying to get the members of the McDuffie County community up and moving in an effort to help everyone realize just how important overall wellness is throughout the span of our lives.
McDuffie County residents are challenged to track their steps for two weeks in October to promote health and wellness. The event also serves as a fundraising opportunity for the Georgia Cancer Center, although participants are not required to raise money or give donations. The first 45 participants to sign up through Paceline will receive a FREE pedometer donated to Paceline by the Georgia Department of Health.
Whether you walk, run, ride, or swim, Paceline and McDuffie Moves! will have virtual events, activities and challenges leading up to October 24th, which will be the PaceDay 2020 Celebration live-streamed. Potential activities will include wellness videos from the American Heart Association, joining the Thomson-McDuffie Recreation Department Walkers Club, and more! With a $0 registration fee and new fundraising incentives for participants, everyone is encouraged to join the movement to fundraise for the Georgia Cancer Center.
We invite you to track your steps through the Thomson-McDuffie Recreation Department Walkers Club. To join, download "World Walking" app or visit worldwalking.org, register, and join the "TMRD Walkers Club" group.
Participants are also encouraged to utilize these wellness videos provided by the American Heart Association:
- 7 Hacks for Eating Healthy at Home
- Dance Workout with tWitch and Allison
- Chair Workout
- Yoga Workout
- How to choose a health app
- Like to snack? How to be a smart snacker
