PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Because of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Veterans Affairs, PGA HOPE programming is offered at no cost for Military Veterans as a form of therapy and is funded by PGA REACH.
In 2023, PGA HOPE will serve over 12,000 Veterans across 49 states. In total there are currently 356 active programs led by PGA Professionals. The program covers the fundamentals like grip, stance to playing nine-holes and everything in between – all through a developmental six to eight week curriculum.
PGA HOPE has expanded to 150 new program locations in 2023 – a 61% increase in new program locations. Additionally, PGA HOPE has seen a 67% increase in Veteran and Active Duty Military participation. Currently, the program boasts an average of 20 Veterans per program.
