ABOUT US

Overall, PGA HOPE is a program that enhances Veterans' physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. However, the Michigan section is proud to partner with PGA of America Golf Professionals throughout the state that genuinely cares for the Veterans and PGA HOPE. Our mission is to provide a 6-8 week program and encourage relationships between Veterans, PGA golf professionals, and the game of golf. We work hard to create an environment where each program has the resources and ability to enrich the golf experience for each Veteran.

PROGRAM GROWTH

PGA HOPE continues to be a popular program throughout the state of Michigan. Our current waitlist is around 350 veterans, and continues to rise. In 2023, we had 12 PGA HOPE sessions throughout the state and about 160 graduates. As we approach 2024, we are excited to have additional PGA of America Golf Professionals participate in the PGA HOPE training program. We will host multiple training sessions this winter in anticipation that additional PGA HOPE program locations will be introduced in 2024.

WHY IT MATTERS

Considering the growth of interest in PGA HOPE in 2023, the funds raised from National Day of HOPE in Michigan will host more sessions throughout the state and make it more accessible to Veterans. We also want to assist more with costs that may be needed for equipment, facilities, and post-program activities and host a PGA HOPE Cup at the end of the season. PGA REACH will provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000 of what we raise locally. We hope you will partner with us to impact local Veterans in our Section.
