ABOUT US
Southern California is home to several military installations and thousands of veteran and active-duty service members who would greatly benefit from the therapeutic qualities of golf and the family, connection, and camaraderie that PGA HOPE facilitates. To better the lives of our military community, PGA HOPE is spreading across the region to positively impact the lives of 500 veterans annually through a golf development program taught specifically by PGA/LPGA Professionals.
PROGRAM GROWTH
The Southern California PGA HOPE program has had an impactful year; we project to serve 500 Veterans with 22 different host facilities and 43 Sessions, an increase from 80 veterans and four facilities in 2022. We have expanded programming into all five Chapters: Inland Empire, Desert, Metro, Los Angeles, & San Diego. We have trained 81 PGA/LPGA Professionals this year across five instructor training sessions. We have implemented monthly Play Days and expect to continue offering more benefits and supplementary activities for our graduated veterans. We are working with local Vet Centers to increase mental health awareness and provide resources to veterans in the community. We still have hundreds of interested military members on our waiting list (500+ individuals) who are excitedly waiting to have a chance to be part of the PGA HOPE Family.
WHY IT MATTERSWe will utilize funds raised to subsidize our growing number of programs across Southern California, with a particular interest in building up programs near VA Hospitals. Funds will also cover the costs of our one-day clinics to encourage and introduce PGA HOPE and golf to female veterans, VA Nursing Homes, and other service members who may be hesitant to register for a 6-week golf program. PGA REACH will provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000 of what we raise locally. We hope you will partner with us to impact local Veterans in our Section.
