Session One: Genomic & Genetic Testing, How Biomarkers Can Drive Treatment. presented by Dr. Mitchell Edelson


Dr. Mitchell Edelson, MD is a gynecological oncologist and with over 31 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Edelson has extensive experience in Gynecologic Neoplasms. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College Of Thomas Jefferson University in 1991. He is affiliated with medical facilities Jefferson Abington Hospital and Jefferson Lansdale Hospital.





Session Two: Painting with a Purpose presented by Lauren Dotter

Painting for a Purpose, where art, experiences and education intersect to shed light on the ovarian cancer journey.  This unique workshop offers participants the opportunity to express themselves through painting while engaging in important conversations about ovarian cancer awareness, treatment, symptom management and support.  

Led by experienced artist and healthcare professional, Lauren Dotter, this workshop aims to empower attendees to channel their emotions, experiences, and hopes onto the canvas.  Through a guided paint session, participants will explore various techniques, colors and themes to create their own masterpiece.  While the paint dries, the event will include opportunities to share valuable insights and questions associated with the ovarian cancer experience.


Lauren has a psychotherapy private practice located in Dublin, PA. She provides individual, family, couples, and group therapy. Therapy is provided to children, adolescents, and adults for anxiety, depression, family, grief and loss, health/medical, and other life or mental health struggles.

Session Three: NIA Movement Therapy (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) presented by Lisa Zahren

NIA is a holistic movement practice that works with elements from martial arts, dance, and relaxation techniques and brings together body, mind, and soul. This movement can be done from the comfort of your chair or standing. Suitable for all! We encourage you to bring a scarf to enhance the activity!


Lisa has been teaching embodied movement classes using the tools of the NIA Technique for more than a decade, including classes for cancer support groups. NIA combines elements of martial arts, yoga, mindfulness, and dance to create a movement practice that balances and energizes the body. She is also a teacher-in-training/apprentice through Open Floor International, a conscious dance practice.



Session Four: Palliative Care Options for Ovarian Cancer presented by Dr. Anna Thomas


Dr. Anna Thomas is a passionate palliative care physician, wife, and devoted mother to two young children. Through her work in palliative care and hospice, Dr. Thomas has gained invaluable insights in to the importance of living life to the fullest and crafting a legacy that truly reflects one's values and aspirations.

Driven by this understanding, Dr. Thomas expanded her mission beyond medicine. As a certified life coach and John Maxwell leadership speaker and trainer, she empowers women to unlock their potential and shape meaningful legacies through her company, Life LeadHership.

With insights drawn from her palliative care background, Dr. Thomas guides women to break barriers, embrace their power, and live courageously. Join her on a transformative journey toward a life filled with purpose and satisfaction.
