About Planet Dances for Kids 2019

Planet Dances for Kids is a philanthropy event hosted by the families of Planet Dance in Southern Indiana. The event celebrates those affected by Norton Children's Hospital by bringing together community members, families, and our students to DANCE for those who can't. During this 2.5 hour event, more than 60 dancers and their family members will raise money, play games, dance, and most importantly, celebrate with those they have helped impact.

Why Participate?

Have fun while giving back!

In its first year, Planet Dances for Kids hopes to raise money for the Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Norton Children's Hospital.

This unit will feature private rooms dedicated to children recovering from heart procedures, open heart surgery including heart transplant, heart failure and other conditions requiring intensive care.

It will be staffed by additional specialists with cardiac critical care training and experience, dedicated nursing staff and other professionals focused solely on heart care. Research has shown that a unit such as this can improve a child’s recovery.

About the Cause

Norton Children’s Hospital provides a complete range of medical services dedicated to compassionate skilled care for all children, without regard to their families’ ability to pay. The hospital also provides a pediatric intensive care unit and one of America’s largest Level IV neonatal intensive care units.

As the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Norton Children’s Hospital enjoys a strong partnership with the medical academic community.

Norton Children’s Hospital and its regional facilities serve over 170,000 patients each year from all over the state of Kentucky and parts of Southern Indiana.
