2025 Disney Princess Marathon Weekend supporting National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

For my friend Emily Claiborne in support of National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's vital resources, research, + advocacy for those affected.
Disney has always been a place of magic and cherished memories. This year, as I lace up my running shoes for the Disney Princess Races, I’m doing so with a heart full of love and remembrance for my dear friend Emily Claiborne. The memories we created together are treasures I hold close, and I’m committed to honoring her legacy in a meaningful way. Emily was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She loved sunflowers, making you laugh until you cry and the Song "Bust a Move" by Young MC. I can picture her now dancing and singing her favorite part - "She's dressed in yellow, she says, "Hello, Come sit next to me you fine fellow. You run over there without a second to lose and what comes next? Hey bust a move!" This race is for her and for everyone that we have lost to any cancer in our lives.
Why I’m RunningI’ve registered for the Disney Princess Races to raise awareness and funds for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). The NOCC's mission is to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities affected by ovarian cancer. With your support, we can make a significant impact on those battling this disease.
How You Can Help
Your tax-deductible donation will support NOCC's national programs and local initiatives. These funds are vital for their initiatives:
- Raising Awareness: Educating the public about the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.
- Patient Assistance: Providing crucial support to newly-diagnosed patients.
- Caregiver Support: Offering ongoing help and resources to caregivers.
- Advancing Research: Advocating for the advancement of ovarian cancer research to save more lives.
Join Me in Making a Difference
In a year filled with challenges, one challenge remains: saving more lives from ovarian cancer. Together, we can make a difference. Your donation, no matter the size, will help connect me with my community and show our shared passion for ending ovarian cancer.
Will you please join me in this fight and help save lives by honoring Emily and donating today?
Thank you for your support.
Emily Jean was born August 9, 1982. She was the type of friend that everyone needed in their life. She was always there for you no matter what. Emily was very genuine, caring and kind, always putting others first. She was attending graduate school at East Carolina University pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work when she became ill. She fought cancer hard and I will always, always remember her as a warrior, sun flower loving ball of energy. Emily Jean Claiborne passed away on September 6, 2009. I will never forget her and the impact she left on my life. I am running this year in her memory and to honor all those that have fought any type of cancer.
