2025 Disney Princess Marathon Weekend supporting National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

I am celebrating my 2 year survivorship & supporting other women in their fight!
At 37 years old, I never imagined I would face the life-changing diagnosis of ovarian cancer. But this is my story, and it’s one of courage, hope, and the power of community.
After what seemed like a routine procedure for endometriosis and an “ovarian cyst,” my world turned upside down. Pathology revealed a rare type of ovarian cancer called granulosa cell tumor, a type of sex cord-stromal cancer. Because the initial surgery only removed the cyst, my oncology team recommended a full hysterectomy to reduce the risk of the cancer spreading or returning.
My second surgery was extensive. I underwent a salpingo-oophorectomy, hysterectomy, omentectomy, and cystectomy. They removed my uterus, fallopian tubes, the left ovary, and additional cysts and tissue. While my right ovary was spared, biopsies showed the cancer had spread to my left ovary, bladder, and pelvis. To improve my prognosis, I completed six rounds of chemotherapy over three months.
In September 2023, I finished my treatment and was declared to have no evidence of disease. While I am deeply grateful to be on the other side, the journey doesn’t end here. Lingering side effects and regular monitoring are now part of my new normal, but so is a renewed determination to live life fully.
Movement has always been my anchor, and focusing on my health has been a way to reclaim my body and my spirit. I’m starting this next chapter by doing something meaningful: I’ve registered for the Disney Princess Races to raise funds and awareness for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC).
When I was first diagnosed, I felt alone, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do next. That’s when I found NOCC. They welcomed me with open arms, connecting me with other survivors who inspired me with their strength and hope. The support I received from this incredible community helped me through the darkest days of my life, and now, I have the privilege of paying it forward.
This race is about more than just running—it’s about raising awareness, funding vital resources, and giving back to an organization that changes lives. NOCC helps women like me find the support they need during their toughest battles.
I’m asking for your help. Your donation, no matter the amount, will directly support NOCC’s mission to educate, advocate, and offer hope to ovarian cancer patients and survivors. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against this devastating disease.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. With your support, we can bring hope, strength, and inspiration to women and families everywhere.
Will you please join me to help save lives by donating today?
