Hello! My name is Jordan Gaylord, Talent Acquisition Specialist with Adams Brown CPAs, a company that emphasizes giving back to the community through programs like the Queen Bee Campaign, United way and more.
I am honored and excited to be a Queen Bee because I get to raise financial support for two important services in our community--the St. Anthony Family Shelter and Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter. The St. Anthony Family Shelter provides emergency housing exclusively for families with children. Harbor House provides a safe place for survivors of severe violence to rebuild their lives. Families at both shelters have access to three meals a day, snacks, medical support, housing stabilization support, information about finding a job, counseling, and so much more.
Please consider giving to provide shelter and support for families and persons facing the most difficult times of their lives.
About me
I was born and raised in Naugatuck, CT, in a Christian family. I grew up with my twin brother in the best neighborhood a kid could wish for where we were outside playing with friends from morning to evening. I attended Friends University and worked as an Admissions Counselor upon graduating. I then became the Director of Recruitment where I worked with a team of 7 to help share the educational opportunities Friends University could provide a potential student. After leaving friends after about 5.5 years I worked in a fundraising role at Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement.
While fundraising was rewarding, my passion was to work directly with students to help them navigate pathways for their future. This lead me into my current role with Adams Brown. In my role as Talent Acquisition Specialist with Adams Brown I work with universities across Kansas and Arkansas to recruit for and build our internship program. I also co-run the internship program ensuring interns have a great experience with us. It is truly the best feeling when our interns stay on with us as a student worker or even into a full-time role. This year, for the intern summer service project, I arranged a volunteer day for the interns to help the Salvation Army prep their new Recovery Center for the grand opening. It was rewarding and fulfilling to give back to our local community.
