Saturday, July 9, 2022, 9AM, at T-Mobile Park

We are so excited to be fully back in-person for our 2022 Refuse To Abuse 5K®! This year, we will be welcoming 1500 participants to T-Mobile Park, and we can't wait to see all of you!

This event has always been a time to celebrate the resilience of survivors and the power of community. After two years of so much isolation, we hope this 5K will provide some much needed connection, and communicate to everyone experiencing abuse that they are not alone.

Will there be any changes to the race from years past?

If you participated in our 2021 5K, you'll know that we had staggered start times for our participants. This year, we will be returning to our classic single start time for all participants at 9AM!

For our small group of virtual participants, we will automatically mail your race bags the week of July 11. This year, there will be no option for virtual participants to pick up their items at the ballpark on race day.

For our in-person participants, we will not be mailing your race bags if you are not able to attend on race day. We thank you in advance for your understanding!

What COVID-19 restrictions will be in place?

We will be following the King County and T-Mobile Park COVID-19 guidelines on the day of the event. As of now, masks and proof of vaccination will not be required. If the state or local ordinances change, we will adapt and abide by those.

How do you participate virtually?

Though we are treating this year as a fully in-person event, we will be opening a small group of 250 virtual spots for folks that can't make it to Seattle on race day. Participants will walk, jog, or run a 5K (3.1 miles) on their own, wherever it is safe to do so (e.g., in your neighborhood, on a treadmill) on July 9, 2022. We will mail your race swag to you the week of July 11th. We’ll be interacting across social media channels throughout race day to make the experience fun and interactive!

About the event

The Refuse To Abuse® 5K at T-Mobile Park is a unique 5K fun run/walk that takes you around every level of T-Mobile Park, from the top of the players' tunnel to the final lap around the field. Stepping out on the field level of a major league ball park is an awe-inspiring moment that few have experienced! Funds raised benefit the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence and their statewide violence prevention and education work.

Refuse To Abuse® is a 26-year partnership between the Seattle Mariners and the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV). With spokespeople that included Kyle Seager, Justus Sheffield, and Scott Servais, Refuse To Abuse® has reached millions of Mariners fans over the past 26 years with messages that promote healthy, respectful relationships.
