About Run like a Unicorn 2025
We are excited to announce our 6th annual "Run like a Unicorn" 5k will be both in person and virtual on May 18, 2025!
Every May we invite our supporters to "Run like a Unicorn" to help raise awareness and funds for children fighting pediatric cancer. May holds a special significance since it's Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Pediatric brain tumors are now the number one cause of cancer related death for children 0-14 in the United States. Funds raised through this race will help us continue to support pediatric cancer research bringing us closer to better treatments for our kids!
For 2025 we are dedicating our run to Nicholas Vidanos. Please take the time to read his story below.

Our Inspiration for this years race
"Nicholas' Victory Lap"
Nicholas was just 18 months old when he was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Prior to his diagnosis his parents suspected something was not right, he was getting sick regularly and experiencing night sweats. These symptoms were brought up to his pediatrician but Nicholas's parents were assured that there was nothing to be concerned about.
On December 28, 2022 all of those concerns came to fruition when Nicholas was diagnosed with cancer. Nicholas stayed in the hospital for over three weeks, having a port place in his chest, and then received treatment for 28 days straight. He has been through more than most adults since his diagnosis, bone marrow aspirations, IV's, injections into his muscles, oral chemotherapy, and many scary trips to the emergency room.
Nicholas' smile is contagious and he has stolen the hearts of many of us at Liv Like A Unicorn. We feel privileged to have been able to be apart of Nicholas and his parents journey. Our foundation has been able to support their family through our Financial Assistance and Unicorn Box program, as well as having lots of fun at our foundation events throughout the year.
After 2 1/2 years Nicholas has his finish line in sight, he will be ending treatment in 2025. So we invite you to walk or run for Nicholas and all of the children who have experienced a fight that no child should ever have to endure.
