1. Will there be awards given for the 5K?

Custom Designed medals sponsored by Express Fasteners, Inc.  will be given to the top 2 overall finishers in the 5K and 5K wheelchair divisions, as well as the top 2 male and female finishers in each of the following divisions: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-60, and 70+.



2.  Will there be awards given to the Top Fundraisers?


Fundraise $500+ for entry into our grand prize raffle win of 2 Southwest Airline ticket vouchers! Offering flights to 102 destinations in 40 states, Puerto RicoMexicoCentral America and the Caribbean$600 cash value.


Each individual that raises $250+ will receive an exclusive "Top Fundraiser" event shirt.

To secure your shirt, this fundraising goal must be met by March 30th.  Note, your fundraising shirt will be in placement of your event shirt, not in addition to.


Those that raise $100+ will be entered to win Powerbeats 3 Wireless Headphones. These comfortable, water resistant, Bluetooth headphones are perfect for any type of workout or “on the go” moment.

3.  Is the 5K course USATF certified?

Yes, the 5K course was certified in October 2017, certification code:  IL-17032WR.



4. Can we pick up our Race Packets before April 26th?

Yes, packet pick up instructions are as follows:

Marklund Phillips Center & Dayschool

164 S. Prairie Ave Bloomingdale, IL 60108

*Ann Haskins Center Entrance


Friday, April 24th from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm
Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm

Fee at this site is $40 for the 5K/Fee at this site is $30 for the 1 Mile.

Race Day Registration will be available from 6:45 am – 7:45 am at Marklund Philip Center (Bloomingdale)



5.  When does On-line Registration close?  

Online Registration closes Wednesday April 22 at 11:59PM. You can then register at Marklund Philip Center on April 24th (4-7 p.m.) and April 25th (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) or Race Day from 6:45-7:45 am.



6. Does the Registration price increase? 

Yes, the Registration price increases by $5.00 for both the 5K and 1M on April 1st.



7.  Can I bring my dog on a leash? 

Sorry, but NO. Only certified service dogs will be allowed to participate in this event, with special permission ahead of time.  Due to the various and unique special needs of our clients who may be participating, we will not allow pets on the course or at the Party in the Park. Pets are permitted as spectators along the route at a safe distance from participants.


8. Can I bring my child in a stroller or wagon?

Yes, strollers and wagons will be allowed, but will be seeded in the back. Children in strollers and wagons can participate for free.  If you want them to have their own bib and t-shirt, they will need to be registered separately. Although, bicycles and in-line skates are prohibited.


9. Will the event still happen in inclement weather?

Yes, this fundraiser for Marklund will happen rain, snow or shine! We will track the weather closely with authorities, and cancel or delay the event in the instance of lightening or other conditions deemed dangerous.   In the rare circumstance that this event is cancelled, we will notify all registrants with further instructions on picking up their shirts and packets if they have not already done so.


10.  Can I volunteer for this event? 

Yes, we welcome all volunteers 14 years old and up!  Please register under "Volunteer" or email our Race Director at nsarby@marklund.org. 


11. Will there be activities for kids after the race? 

We have lots of delicious food, live music, and mini horses at the race!


12. Where is parking?

Although there will not be participant or volunteer parking in Marklund’s Main Parking lot at 164 S. Prairie Ave. You will find plenty of free parking at our neighbors less than a .25 walk from the start/finish line. DuJardin Elementary School is located at 166 Euclid Ave, along with Bloomingdale Park District located at 172 S Circle Ave.


13. Will there be restrooms?

Portapotties will be available at the Start/Finish for your convenience. Handicapped restroom available as well.


14.  Where can I get my official race time?

You can check our website www.marklund.org/5kbloomingdale after the race to view results!


15.  What’s in the packets?

 We're aiming to "go green" for 2020! All race packets will be given in our Run, Walk & Roll reusable bag.
