San Diego's Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" for families with children in local hospitals.
Each night, 56 families find a room to lay their weary heads just steps from their child across the street in the hospital. Over 1,000 families call San Diego's Ronald McDonald House home each year.
Every day, the Ronald McDonald House is open to any parent with a child in the hospital. These parents come for a hot meal, free of charge, a warm shower and new clothes, or just a quiet place to escape for a moment. Over 13,000 people find comfort at the House each year.
During this time of uncertainty, the House has remained open to serve families with the most critically ill children whose treatments can't wait for COVID-19 to pass and continues to provide 200 to-go meals each day for those families with hospitalized children.
