About 2025 Sam Houston Area Council Friends of Scouting Campaign- Building Your Future

Support the Sam Houston Area Council and Build Your Future!

For generations, Scouting has transformed the lives of thousands of youth here in Southeast Texas.  Scouting is made possible through the generosity of volunteers, families, members of our community, and companies who all believe that a strong foundation of character and leadership developed in youth, leads to stronger more productive lives.

There are many ways that you can participate in this campaign, either as a fundraising volunteer, by making a gift to our Friends of Scouting, or by being an ambassador of Scouting using your network, both personal and on your social media accounts. Every dollar raised stays here in Southeast Texas to support the youth in our communities.

We hope that you will find something that not only excites you but also allows you an opportunity to give back to a program that has shaped the lives of great leaders for well over a century. We need your help to relaunch Scouting in Southeast Texas!

Friends of Scouting is the Sam Houston Area Council’s annual campaign for individuals and companies to make a 100% tax-deductible gift to support Scouting programs.  The Sam Houston Area Council will invest over $250 in each of our more than 28,000 youth in 2025 alone.  By investing in this campaign, you are supporting families who need financial assistance to participate, five year-round facilities (including four camping properties and the Cockrell Scout Center), and an infrastructure designed to support over 8,000 adult volunteers who bring Scouting to life. Friends of Scouting is the most cost-effective way to support Scouting programs.

Matching Gifts: Many corporations match employee contributions made to the Boy Scouts of America. Some companies even make financial contributions for volunteering time to Scouting. Check with your employer to see if your time and contribution could be matched!

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Scouting has long been a program that has instilled values, morals, character, and leadership skills into the youth of today in hopes of a brighter future for us all.  Through Scouting, youth learn to work together in teams, to overcome challenges, and learn how to fail and continue to demonstrate resilience.

Through Scouting, youth learn character through service in the community annually giving back over 150,000 hours of community service.

Through Scouting youth are thrust into leadership roles where they learn to lead their peers with the support of volunteers who guide their journey.  Scouts have the opportunity to develop and refine their leadership skills in a low-risk environment, creating an unparalleled incubator of leadership not found in any other organization.

Scouting impacts our community in so many ways, but not without your support!
