About SafeHouse Denver

SafeHouse Denver is the city and county's only agency that provides a full continuum of care for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Shimmy Mob Denver is proud to be support survivors of domestic violence by raising critical funds and awareness. On Saturday, May 13th, 2023, Shimmy Mob returns to Denver! Shimmy Mob is a unique event where dancers worldwide dance to the same choreography on the same day, wearing the same t-shirt, to raise funds and awareness on domestic violence while celebrating World Belly Dance day. The first Shimmy Mob was held on May 14, 2011, and Sabeya, the founder of Shimmy Mob, intended to have the event once as a fundraiser for local women's shelters. The response to the event was unanimous: do it again. The movement continues to grow, and participants return every year. SafeHouse Denver is honored to be the benefitting charity of the Denver show this year.
