HIGH HOLY DAYS HUNGER RELIEF PROJECT

For many years, members of our community have taken seriously the words of our Jewish tradition to set aside “the corners of our fields” for the poor and the stranger. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $15,000 last year. As we prepare for the High Holy Days, consider making a meaningful donation to LIBERTY’s High Holy Days Hunger Relief Project.  The collected funds will benefit Second Harvest, which serves as the main food pantry distributor in the greater Charlotte region and contributes to Jewish Family Services.

Did you know there are over 553,000 people in our region living at or below the poverty line?  Over 182,000 are children at risk of going hungry every day.  But each of us can make a difference with a simple donation today.

Funds are Second Harvest’s greatest need and a wonderful way to multiply your giving.  In the big picture, they are able to provide 7 pounds of food into the community for every $1 donation!  Funds help keep refrigerated trucks on the road allowing them to pick-up and distribute fresh produce, dairy and meats to over 800 partner agencies. The Food Bank can also purchase products by the pallet - securing much-needed items at great pricing.  In short, funds result in critical and healthy foods reaching more people in need.

If you cannot make a donation at this point, help us reach our goal by sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter! Or, even better, send an e-mail to friends you think might be interested in contributing and include a link to our page!

Thanks so much for your generosity.  Together we can
END Hunger!
