The Morgan Marie Michael Foundation and Shop. Sell. Strut! brand were created to enhance the lives of those who are differently-abled. Alyssa Lego and Amanda Witkowski, Founders of the Morgan Marie Michael Foundation, have been inspired by the differences that exists in their communities. They believe through programming, education and awareness campaigns, they can help eradicate the labels and stereotypes that taunt individuals with disabilities and bridge the gap between populations that often walk in the path of strangers. They aspire to see a world that chooses to walk in the path of friendship.
One in 54 children are diagnosed with autism nationwide and there is no medical detection or cure. The cost of supporting individuals with autism during their lifespan is $24 million. The Morgan Marie Michael Foundation addresses the limited resources available to families to help them have access to important tools such as iPads, software, and protective cases to improve their child's chances for long-term success and happiness.
The Morgan Marie Michael Foundation offers the thought by one of its Founders -
‘When a person is born without the wings to fly, we must help them so that we may all fly together.”
Through the Foundation's philanthropic event series Shop. Sell. Strut! and the #istrutforautism movement, Alyssa and Amanda create awareness, programming and support specifically for individuals on the autism spectrum. "Friends who are Different" is an interactive lesson offered free of charge to schools. clubs and youth groups and has reached tens of thousands of young people nationwide. The Foundation also provides the community with the iCan iPad Learning Experience Gift Program designed to increase learning and communication skills. An iPad is a cherished item for a child with autism. In some instances, it could possibly be their sole method of communication, learning, and engagement. Other programs include Strut! and Play, a sensory toy resource for child life teams, schools and individuals. 100% of proceeds benefit programming and direct support to assist individuals on the autism spectrum with opportunities, appliances, and channels for enhanced living.
By raising a total of $1,000, in addition to the prizes awarded at all levels, you will receive all badges, an Alex and Ani Autism Awareness Bracelet, and commemorative plaque.
