Soaring For Crittenton

Profession/Company: Owner, Esthetician at Fresh Faced Society

Fun Fact: I love photography and taking black and white photos with a real camera (not a cell phone) and working in the dark room to develop the photos myself.

Why I feel connected to Crittenton's mission: My parents separated when I was three, leaving my mother with no job, no car, and only a high school education. We relied on welfare, and despite working three jobs—bartending, a fish store, and a pizza shop—she still struggled to keep the lights on. Some nights, we boiled water on a kerosene heater just so I could take a bath. I missed so much school that I had to repeat first grade.

I may not share every experience of the girls and women at Crittenton, but I know what it feels like to be stuck, to feel alone. That’s why this mission matters to me.
