Join us as we kick off our first-ever Virtual Fitness Challenge! If 2020 taught us anything, it's to expect a new normal, even if it's temporary. So, to help keep everyone safe and healthy right now we are transforming our annual Strikes for Stronger Families Bowl-a-thon for SERVE into the Strides for Stronger Families Virtual Fitness Challenge.
For each minute of fitness activity (cycling, running, walking, swimming, yoga, weight training, etc.) logged on Strava (a free app) or your personal fundraising page, we will raise funds for our Greater Prince William County neighbors in need. You can invite your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to take part in the Challenge or donate to your fundraiser. An integral part of our Strides for Stronger Families Challenge is our goal to collectively log 35,000 minutes of fitness activity to represent the 35,000 Northern Virginians that seek out our services annually. The Fitness Challenge will take place from April 9th – 15th.
Northern Virginia Family Service’s SERVE campus addresses the immediate needs of families and individuals in crisis by offering them the stabilizing support they need to become self-sufficient and develop the potential for future success. While the event looks a bit different this year, the purpose is still the same – to build a stronger Greater Prince William Community.
How to participate:
Don't forget to have fun!
Unlike a traditional walk/run/bike race, this virtual fitness challenge allows individuals and teams to participate anywhere they are and any time, day or night; rain or shine; inside or outside, between April 9 and April 15, 2021. Participants continue to do the things that they normally do to stay active, all knowing they are raising vital funds for NVFS' SERVE Campus.
There's no registration fee for the Strides Fitness Challenge. Instead, we encourage you to jumpstart your fundraising with an initial contribution to set the pace for your friends, family, and co-workers to follow.
Northern Virginia Family Service's SERVE Campus addresses the immediate needs of families and individuals in crisis by offering them the stabilizing support they need to become self-sufficient and develop the potential for future success. The SERVE Campus houses a variety of programs that help our neighbors receive the immediate assistance they need, such as food and shelter, rapid re-housing, healthcare access, and early childhood education.
By participating in the 2021 Strides for Stronger Families Fitness Challenge, you are helping NVFS provide the continuum of programs and resources that help us transform the lives of thousands of families in the Greater Prince William Community each year so they don't just survive, but thrive!
Thank you for your support of NVFS' SERVE Campus!
