I Am Making A Difference with My Miles!

Hello friends and family!

As many of you know, my mom has been bravely living with and fighting ovarian cancer for some time now. The journey hasn't been easy, but her strength and resilience have been nothing short of inspiring. She's not fighting this battle alone, though; she has an incredible support system rallying behind her every step of the way...which many of you have played a large part in.

That's why, this November, I will be running the New York City Marathon with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. This charity is special to my whole family, and I'm so proud to be able to represent them in this endeavor.

My mom was an avid runner before she was first diagnosed in 2020. She often stressed the value of running for both physical and mental health. She would encourage my siblings and me to go for a run to maintain a clear mind, and that advice has stuck with me ever since.

Completing a marathon is a significant challenge, but it pales in comparison to the challenges faced by my mom and those fighting cancer every day. By donating to support my NYC Marathon run, you will not only be cheering me on but also contributing to an organization that is instrumental in providing resources, support, and advocacy in this fight against Ovarian Cancer.

I run for my incredible mom and the thousands of women who are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming to this fundraising page and supporting me -  your generosity, kind words, positive thoughts, and well wishes mean more to me (and my family!) than words can express.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Kate

EDIT 9/5/24: With a heavy heart I share that my mom, Sally, peacefully passed away last week, after a long summer with my family by her side. She stated many times she wasn't ready to leave early - nor were we. Until the very end she knew she had a limited time to live but never gave death more power than it was due. She embraced life with an increased intensity for whatever time she had left. For four years our mom faced this relentless illness with an unwavering spirit and fierce determination that inspired everyone. She is an inspiration that is everlasting. Despite any challenge, she thrived daily with an incredible sense of humor, purpose and joy. I am more determined than ever to honor her legacy through this race. Thank you
