I Am Making A Difference with My Miles!

This year, I registered for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon event as a member of NOCC TEAM TEAL, because I want to raise awareness and funding for National Ovarian Cancer Coalition . My support will help improve the lives of individuals, families and communities touched by ovarian cancer and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.

In the wake of losing my mother-in-law, I have felt a lot of things but overwhelmingly I have been angry. Ovarian Cancer is already a disease often caught by the time it is already Stage 3 or even Stage 4. The length of this process was exacerbated by the countless doctors and misdiagnosis that she had to go through. We live in a world where Black women continue to experience excess mortality relative to other U.S. women.

I didn't know where to begin to share my frustrations but this seemed like a good start. I can’t dismantle systemic racism and I can’t cure cancer but hopefully, I can start some meaningful conversations.

All that is to say, I am running with Team Teal to raise money for the NOCC. Dollars raised for the NOCC support national programs and local market initiatives to heighten awareness of the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, assist newly-diagnosed patients throughout the country, provide ongoing support to caregivers, and advocate for the advancement of ovarian cancer research. Help me connect with my community and show my passion for saving lives and ending ovarian cancer.

Will you please join me to help save lives by donating today?
