I am running the 2023 Chicago marathon to raise awareness for kidney disease.
Thank you for checking out my page!
My son Tyler was born with chronic kidney disease. He spent the first years of his life fighting to keep his only kidney functioning properly. Eventually, with the care and dedication of his doctors and most of all his Mom!, his kidney began to function enough to sustain a normal life. We knew someday however that he would eventually need a kidney transplant.
That day came shortly after his 14th birthday, on June 29 2021, when I was lucky enough to give him the gift of a brand new kidney! Now, almost 1 year later, Tyler lives as normal of a life as any 14 year old boy.
Someday in his future, Tyler will need another new kidney and we can only hope that when that time comes new research will help with making that process even easier for him and many others like him...or Tyler’s mom will have the chance to be the hero she has always been.
I am running this marathon to continue to due my duty as Tyler’s dad and to help all others in his situation because let’s face it, I don’t have any other kidneys to give, so this will forever be what I have to offer.
Thank you so much for your contribution to this amazing cause!
