2026 Team Race for ALS- Chicago Marathon supporting The Les Turner ALS Foundation

My lifelong friend Kevin Patula was diagnosed with ALS in March 2024. I'm running for him, his wife and three daughters — and for a cure.
Kevin Patula and I met in first grade. We effectively grew up in each other's homes, and have been Little League teammates, high school classmates, college roommates and in each other's weddings. Kevin was diagnosed with ALS in March 2024. So I'm running the Chicago Marathon as part of Team Race for ALS for Kevin; his wife, Bridget; and their three daughters, Emily, who is in medical school, Molly, who is entering physician assistant school, and Cait, who is finishing up her freshman year in college.
Kevin has received support from the Les Turner ALS Foundation, and the strength he's shown since being diagnosed goes well beyond 26.2 miles, or any other distance. We both will be raising awareness about ALS through social media posts in advance of race day: Oct. 11, 2026.
Please consider making a donation to help us reach our fundraising goal. Together, we can create a world free of ALS — for Kevin and many others.
