Run for something bigger

The Pocket Run 5K was created by Ajax-raised Olympian and Right To Play Ambassador Duan Asemota after his 2025 visit to Rwanda, where he saw firsthand how sport, play and education can give children confidence, opportunity and hope.

On October 3, our community will come together in Ajax to help support Right To Play Rwanda and its work with children and young people.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for Right To Play Rwanda.

Why Rwanda?

Right To Play has been working in Rwanda since 2003. As of 2023, its programs were reaching more than 90,000 children across 312 schools.

During his visit to Ruhango, Rwanda, Duan saw students using coding, robotics and engineering to create solutions to real problems in their communities through the Plug in Play program.

The Pocket Run is helping close the gap so more children can have access to these opportunities.

The Pocket Run is more than a 5K. It's a community coming together to send something back to the children who inspired it.

On October 3, 2026, runners and walkers will take on the 5K along the Ajax waterfront. But the impact can go far beyond race day.
