Thank you for your reoccurring contribution to Broken Arrow Neighbors! This past year has been full of the most wonderful things that we can be thankful for, the ability to help our neighbors in need to end food insecurity with dignity and compassion!

All donations went directly back into the Broken Arrow and Coweta communities. With the year of change we had in 2020, we were able to recognize the need in our community and update our food and financial assistance programs to what they are today. Broken Arrow Neighbors is still offering our client-choice food options but have moved it to Neighborhood Curbside Pickup while we still work to serve safely. Clients schedule an appointment online or by phone and can pick up their chosen items with as little as a one-day turn around. For financial assistance, we can now offer all required paperwork online, or clients can schedule a time to meet a staff member face-to-face.

This past year was another year of revolutionizing what we do, and how we do it. With the continuation of our safety protocols, our staff and volunteers stayed safe and were able to assist more clients than ever before! In 2021, we served over 5,000 different households directly from our pantry, in addition to our weekly Backpack for Kids program and our Senior Outreach program, where we take food to homebound seniors at their living facilities. From our client-choice pantry we were able to provide 88,365 pounds of fresh produce, which equates to over $150,200 worth of fresh items given out, in addition to the numerous shelf stable items they always receive. Just at Thanksgiving we distributed a beautiful meal to 121 families, comprised of over 965 individuals, with over 5,390 total pounds of food given away in our one day distribution event!

Broken Arrow Neighbors was also able to directly provide over $52,000 in financial assistance towards utility bills and rent, in addition to our new partnership with Restore Hope that helped with over $6 million for those with a direct Covid-19 related financial need! Another exciting partnership this year was with the BA Senior Center, where we worked hand-in-hand with their Executive Director, Sean Simpson, to help feed 2,200 seniors in our community with shelf-stable supplemental food bi-weekly, while also working together to comprehensively change the transportation options in Broken Arrow.
