Compassion will take flight at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) on Saturday, November 14, 2026, for the 8th annual Uptown 5K on the Runway, presented by Heidi Schaeffer, M.D.!

Trustbridge Hospice Foundation and FXE invite community members of all ages to participate in a 5K fun run/walk on the FXE runway, where people, not planes, will take off from the runway. Over the past seven years, over 8,000 people have participated in this one-of-a-kind experience.

A quick registration (with the standard event waiver) is required for all attendees —then you’re all set to take off! There is no registration fee, but participants are encouraged to fundraise to support Trustbridge Hospice Foundation. Individuals who raise $75 or more under their own personal fundraising page, will qualify for an Event T-shirt! More details on all of this year's fundraising Incentives will be announced soon.

Participants will disembark into the Uptown 5K Village for fun, refreshments and festivities starting at 7:30am and also following the 5K. Join us and celebrate Aviation, the Uptown community and Compassion Towards Others. All proceeds benefit Trustbridge Hospice Foundation.
