ABOUT WASHINGTON AREA HUMANE SOCIETY

The Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) has been committed to Washington County's most vulnerable animals for over 100 years. As a nonprofit organization that is 100% privately funded, the WAHS relies heavily on the support of our community.

Because of your support, nearly 5,000 pets will be directly impacted through intakes, adoptions, foster placements, humane investigations, a community pet food bank, spay and neuter services, low-cost vaccination clinics, supportive veterinary care, and education and outreach at the Washington Area Humane Society.

So far in 2024:
  • 492 homeless pets were cared for onsite
  • 407 adoptable pets found their forever home
  • 67 animals were rescued by our Humane Society Police Officer
  • 25,000 lbs of pet food were distributed to community members in need Volunteers performed over 6,000 hours of service

#GivingTuesday is one of the most exciting, life-saving, all around amazing days of the whole year!

Each year, this global generosity movement unleashes the power of radical generosity in our community and all around the world. This campaign falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, inspiring us to show up and give back to causes that we care about.

Thanks to a special #GivingTuesday match from an anonymous donor, every dollar received through our #GivingTuesday fundraising efforts will DOUBLE up to a total of $10,000. This is your chance to save twice as many vulnerable pets in our community!

All #GivingTuesday gifts will provide shelter, safety, food, and medical care to the abandoned, abused, and neglected animals of Washington County while they wait to find their forever homes.

Please consider supporting our animals this #GivingTuesday by making a gift today or registering to fundraise (see below).
