Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) has been committed to Washington County’s most vulnerable animals for over 100 years. As a non-profit organization that is 100% privately funded, WAHS relies heavily on the support of our community.
To continue providing shelter, safety, food, and medical attention to over 1,000 each year, our events and fundraisers are crucial to the success of our mission.
By participating in WAHS March Madness, you are helping our animals find loving, forever homes, and allowing us to continue our lifesaving work.
Thank you for supporting WAHS!
Washington Area Humane Society is dribbling down court and heading for a slam dunk as we kick-off our first ever, Shelter Pet March Madness.
Our residents have joined together to form two teams: Team Tails vs. Team Paws and they are looking to you to make the game-winning buzzer-beater.
WAHS March Madness will tip-off on Sunday, March 14th as we introduce the Sniffin’ Sixteen.
Each day, a new match-up will take place to see which resident will break free and win it for their team. The winner of the daily/weekly match-up will advance to the next round, leaving only one cat and one dog in the running for the National Championship.
Each day, two of our residents will be competing to be the “Top Dog” or "Cats Meow” of their team. Earn points for the “player” you want to see win the match-up by completing the steps below.
Daily Match-Up:
Match-up winners will be announced the following morning.
Players may sub if the previous winner found their furever home! We will provide updates if this occurs.
