Walk for Kidneys 2025

Most people don’t think of LIVE organ donation until it hits home . Summer 2021 is when we found out my father was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure and eventually would have to be on dialysis. Thankful for family working alongside the best transplant team and surgeons at UI Health, I would have the opportunity to understand everything about kidney transplant and in short YES my dad and I were  a match .  Thursday  June 29, 2023 my dad and I under went live donor kidney transplant . I donated my kidney to my father . And not just my dad, the man many call my “carbon copy “ if you ever thought of me as a vivacious, energetic , loud , funny , strong, brave , person it’s because of him . I couldn't imagine passing up an opportunity to save my dad's life.I’m inviting you to join me for the upcoming Kidney Walk, a cause that’s incredibly meaningful to me 

Walk for Kidneys is a family-friendly celebration of passion and progress. This annual event is an incredible opportunity for supporters of the NKFI to come together, show their spirit, and demonstrate their determination to make a difference in the fight against kidney disease.  

Join me and thousands of other supporters of the NKFI mission for this festive three-mile walk wherever you are, and help us win the race against kidney disease. With your assistance, we'll raise $265,000 in support of research, public education, and patient services, and together we will make an incredible impact in the lives of patients and families.
