About Walls of Wasmond
Marklund's expansion project aims to not only enhance the physical space but also enrich the lives of those we serve. With your generous support, we will create a facility that is truly tailored to the unique needs of individuals with disabilities, providing them with an environment where they can flourish and reach their fullest potential.
Along with major renovations to the current facility, the Elgin expansion will include:
- An 18,000-square-foot addition
- 24 new beds, bringing our total to 85, all fully Vent Capable 24/7
- A new recreation room
- Two additional nurses’ stations
- Two large, family room areas for parents/guardians to visit with their loved ones
- Two accessible courtyards
- Doubling our parking spots to 131
- A dedicated therapy area
- More washrooms for staff and visitors
- New paved sidewalks around the building
Every aspect has been meticulously designed to promote comfort, engagement, and well-being for our residents, students and community clients.
We anticipate the project's completion by late fall of 2025.

It’s a joy to report that Marklund’s Project WOW campaign raised a total of $206,525 for the Wasmond Center expansion and renovation!
