About Walk For Hope 2026

Join us for the 24th Annual Walk for Hope on Sunday, August 2, at Saginaw Valley State University. This community event brings people together to honor loved ones, raise awareness, and support mental health and suicide prevention.

Event Includes:

  • Untimed 5K Walk/Run or 1‑Mile Walk on paved SVSU paths
  • 50+ resource and activity booths
  • Music, raffles, and guest speakers
  • Family‑friendly atmosphere

Get Involved:

  • Start or join a team
  • Share your story and photos on social media
  • Walk with others who believe no one should feel alone

How Your Support Makes a Difference

All profits will support the Barb Smith Suicide Resource & Response Network's mission to prevent suicide through education, advocacy, connection to resources, and support for those impacted by suicide.

Our Network offers suicide prevention and aftercare trainings for the community to help create a safety net using multi-tiered trainings. In 2025 our Network delivered over 89 trainings reaching over 13,600 people in the community through training, podcasts, online awareness campaigns. The Network cared for over 1,500 people impacted by suicide or needing resources. We are proud to say our Network has been recognized as one of the leading organizations in Michigan to make an impact following the State’s recommendations.
