Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders Today!

Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation annually provides a minimum of 50 scholarships at $5,000 each to students who are pursuing their post-secondary academic goals. Whether trade/technical school, community college or 4-year university/college, we strive to ease the financial burden students face when continuing their education.

Your gift will allow students to pursue their dreams no matter the educational path they choose to take. It will give them hope for the future and create life-changing opportunities they might not otherwise have. Every dollar of your generous donation helps make a bright future for these students.

"I am so thankful for the precious gift of education! As I reflect on the many people and organizations who have supported me and that continue inspiring me to strive for excellence, I cannot help but also thank those that shaped my dad. It was my father’s bravery and selfless service, along with my mother’s sacrifice and perseverance as a military spouse that ignited my original desire to make the world a better place with my own gifts. Thank you for your continuing investment in the lives of military personnel and their families." -Mollie Sullivan, 2016 four-year scholarship recipient; Weaverville, NC; UNC-Chapel Hill

Did you know?

  • Navy dependents move an average of 6-9 times in 12 years of education.
  • They lose extracurricular & leadership opportunities.
  • Curriculum and graduation requirements vary from state to state.
  • New employment may mean new education for spouses.
  • For spouses, finishing a degree in one year is nearly impossible.
  • They endure sponsor’s deployments and family separations.
  • Dependents are often not eligible for community scholarships due to frequent moves.
  • They Serve Alongside Their Sponsor. We Serve Them!

Military families don’t know where they’ll be when it’s time to continue their education, so pre-paid tuition plans can be tough. Even with the best planning covering the cost of a college or trade school education is difficult, especially for Navy families who are living on a single income. These families neither have cash on hand to pay the tuition, nor do they qualify for loan-free grants or need-based scholarships.

While Navy families may take advantage of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, funding from this program only covers the cost of education for one individual in the family, making additional debt or scholarships necessary for remaining family members.

Student debt is the largest non-mortgage debt carried in this country. With the cost of education out pacing salary growth, students take out more debt, but earn less after graduation. Scholarships are the answer to many students trying to avoid crippling debt upon graduation and for some, can create a path forward for continuing their education.

Thank you for your support!

It's not just a scholarship!

It's the next life-saving procedure, aerodynamic breakthrough, water-saving invention, or visionary leader.

The students you help today are the doers and thinkers of tomorrow. They are the technicians, engineers, scientists, artisans, manufacturers, doctors, nurses, teachers, builders and leaders of the future.
