2021 Walk for Children supporting Next Door

About the 2021 Walk for Children
On May 22, Next Door will launch our Virtual Walk for Children, challenging our participants to walk, run, or ride a mile for a child. This weeklong challenge offers participants the opportunity to set their own distance goal, invite friends to join them, and celebrate with us during a virtual event. Our goal is to raise $75,000 in support of high quality, early childhood programs.
Last year, over 530 Next Door Virtual Walk for Children participants walked, ran, and rode 8,130 miles to help build brighter futures for our children and their families. This year, as our Walk continues to grow, we hope that you'll join us for the 2021 Virtual Walk for Children.
Even though learning continued virtually and in the classroom last year, the change in normal routine has impacted children in our community. For over 50 years, Next Door has worked to close the opportunity gap for our students, but the pandemic has widened it. We need your help to make sure Next Door children have the tools they need to succeed.
Your support of the Virtual Walk for Children helps us continue to provide vital programming and educational materials for children ages birth to 5K in our community.
The success of the Walk for Children relies on individuals and teams of friends, families, co-workers and neighbors led by generous people like you. Every person you recruit and every dollar you raise increases awareness and helps Next Door provide vital programming to children ages birth to 5 years old in the Milwaukee area that might otherwise not have the same opportunities as their peers. Thank you for taking on this important role! With one email, text, phone call, or social media post you can ask friends and family to join you in helping to accelerate equity for our students. You’ll be amazed how many people will support you!
Next Door can’t do this valuable work without the help of generous supporters like you. We sincerely hope you will commit to walking a mile for child, 8 miles to support an infant/toddler classroom, or maybe even 17 miles to support an entire preschool classroom. Your commitment to our mission helps build stronger families and a stronger community!
