2024 Anacortes Cancer Walk

Dear Friends,

This is our 9th year!  I am really proud of this fact, after all we have been faced with a few adversities over the years.  Our first year we walked 20 miles on the hottest day of summer (90+).  Our third and fourth year we walked in poor air quality due to forest fires.  And of course the last three years, we were forced to cancel our in person walk and move to a virtual event because of the pandemic.

There are a few things I've learned about obstacles, and that is that they were meant to face and go through.  What we were faced with during our walk days are nothing in comparison with what our friends and family go through during their cancer treatments.  I think it's important to always remember the why we are doing this.  We do whatever we can to help, because we can.

I am once again in awe of each and every one of you who have been diagnosised with cancer.  I admire you, and I promise to work my hardest so that you don't have to worry about how you will pay for your next co-pay, or how you will get to your next treatment.

To all of you who continue to walk, thank you.

Love,

Karla DeCamp
