The walk this year will be held on August 23rd, 2025!

Welcome to our fundraising & silent auction website for the 10th annual Anacortes Cancer Walk. We are so grateful that you are joining us. We encourage you to take a few moments and explore the site and read about all of the exciting additions we have added this year. We will have weekly challenges & activities (both physically and fundraising), we are also continuing the Anacortes Anchor Project and most importantly we will be sharing stories from cancer patients and their loved ones and celebrating those who have left us too soon.

This year will be an in person & virtual walk. What does that mean?

IF YOU CHOOSE TO WALK IN PERSON WITH US:

We will meet at Seafarers' Memorial Park at 8:30am on August 23rd and begin walking at 9:00am. The suggested route is 10 miles but you can walk as little or as much as you want. We will have one water/food station along the route and our bikers will be back to deliver goodies along the route to keep you hydrated and energized!

IF YOU CHOOSE TO WALK ANOTHER DAY OR ANOTHER LOCATION:

You will create your own route and distance. Please document your walk by taking photographs, jotting down a few special things that happen along your walk, or create a video.

Whether you walk in person with us or in your location on August 23rd we will check in with one another throughout the day on this website and on our Facebook group page by posting our pictures, and by sending inspirational messages to each other.

We encourage you to register early to take full advantage of all of our activties planned leading up to walk day. Please register by July 31st to receive a t-shirt by walk day (August 23rd). Your shirt will be delivered to your doorstep if you live in Anacortes, mailed if out of town, or pick up available on walk day.

WHERE DO THE PROCEEDS GO?

2025 is a very special year! Our Foundation is committed to donating the first $10,000 raised to the Merle Cancer Care Center's Medical Relief Fund at Island Hospital in Anacortes.

Anything raised over the $10,000 will go to the Your Story Foundation Medical Relief Fund.

**For those of you joining us for the first time, the Anacortes Cancer Walk is a yearly event held by the nonprofit 501c3, Your Story Foundation based in Anacortes Washington. All proceeds from the walk have previously been donated from Your Story Foundation to the Merle Cancer Care Center's Medical Relief Fund at Island Hospital in Anacortes.

The Merle Cancer Care Center Medical Relief Fund is an assistance fund that provides $800.00 per patient for any medical related cost such as medical supplies, medications, uncovered medical bills, transportation or fuel costs to make appointments, etc. Patients are made aware of the fund when they meet with staff on diagnosis. There is no proof of need required. Our mission is to take some stress away at a very stressful time by meeting a financial need.**
