I’m Rose, the 2026 Hope Walk Chair.
In 2021, shortly after celebrating our youngest’s first birthday, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. With two very young children and the challenges of COVID, our world shifted overnight. The isolation and uncertainty were overwhelming—cancer changes everything.
During that time, we found support through Cancer Support Community SF Bay Area. When so much felt unstable, they offered connection, resources, and encouragement, reminding us we weren’t alone. My husband has been in remission since 2022, and as we approach five years since his diagnosis in May 2026, we feel deep gratitude for the community that carried us through.
Chairing the Hope Walk is a full-circle moment. This felt like the right time to give back, and if stepping into this role helps even one family feel less alone, it’s worth it.
The Hope Walk is more than a fundraiser—it’s a reminder that no one should face cancer alone. Whether you walk in honor, remembrance, celebration, or support, your presence matters.
Every step helps ensure families continue to receive free resources, counseling, and connection during one of life’s hardest seasons.
We can’t always control a diagnosis, but we can make sure no one walks through it alone. I hope you’ll walk with us.
The 12th Annual Hope Walk & Community Fair is Saturday, May 16th at Civic Park in Walnut Creek.
